Next up, an exhibit of 101 Trashion Barbies opens Saturday, March 18 in the Center’s Gallery 212. On display will be 101 Barbies that have been rescued and re-clothed by as many different artists. All dolls will be for sale in a silent auction. Bidding begins at a gala reception from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 18. The exhibit will remain up through Sunday, March 26. On Saturday, March 25, the Seventh Annual Trashion Fashion Runway Show takes place at the Sonoma Valley Veterans Memorial Building, 126 First St. W., Sonoma. Over 30 professional and amateur designers will showcase outrageous, original wearable art created from recycled materials and cast off junk. Exact show times TBD. The deadline to apply for participation in the show is Friday, Feb. 3.

Trashion Week culminates with “Dogs on the Catwalk,” Sonoma’s first Trashion fashion show for dogs on Sunday, March 26, at 11 a.m. at the Sonoma Community Center. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 17.

“We are very excited about expanding the scope of Trashion Fashion and offering more opportunities for participation,” says the center’s Special Projects Manager Margaret Hatcher. “Trashion Fashion is a powerful reminder that so much of what we throw away everyday can be reused or repurposed. A little creativity can transform what we normally think of as junk into something remarkable.”

Professional and amateur designers are invited to design a recycled garment for the runway show, a Barbie doll for 101 Trashion Barbies or their dog on the catwalk.Read more at:http://www.marieaustralia.com/formal-dresses-perth
